Payroll Specialist/Benefits Coordinator                               

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Payroll Specialist/Benefits Coordinator provides support services for the Human Resources Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing payroll and completion of all payroll related reports, record keeping, new employee processing, benefit administration, and governmental reporting requirements.

Essential Functions:

  1. Process payroll.
  2. Create and maintain payroll reports.
  3. Prepare payroll journal entries each pay period for accounting (Business Office.)
  4. Prepare bi-weekly payroll requisitions.
  5. Prepare monthly insurance requisitions.
  6. Prepare time off reports each pay period to Information Systems for efficiency reporting.
  7. Prepare 401(k) contributions roster report each pay period for submission of 401(k) contributions to American Funds.
  8. Meet with new employees to explain insurance benefits & enroll in insurance as applicable.
  9. Process employee separations (payroll/benefits).
  10. Provide Human Resources customer service.
  11. Maintain the strictest confidentiality.
  12. Adherence to and promotion of the Corporate Compliance Program at Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc.

 Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with preparation of annual corporate budget spreadsheet by providing information on 401(k) employer contribution amounts and employer health insurance costs.
  2. Prepares census data on an annual basis for 401(k) year-end reporting and for medical insurance renewal.
  3. Assist with preparation of EEO-1 data for reporting.
  4. Collect and prepare information for workers' compensation audit and 401(k) audit.
  5. Provides financial reporting for senior management as requested.
  6. Will assume other appropriate duties and responsibilities as determined necessary and/or assigned.

Training and Development:

Participates in continuing education programs and in-service training on request or in conjunction with developmental and training goals or as deemed appropriateto increase personal and professional effectiveness and improve the service quality provided our customers.

Policies and Procedures:

Must have in-depth knowledge of all corporate policies and educate staff about policy issues on an ongoing basis.  Will support and demonstrate through his/her actions the philosophy of Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc., as well as its corporate mission, vision, and values.

Education and/or Experience:

Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or related field; or equivalent related experience in payroll processing and/or Human Resources.
